IMAGINE
The morning breeze blows through your hair as you lay out your mat to start stretching. The sun is peaking out over Lake LBJ and you get a front-row seat to the spectacular sunrise as you prepare for the first Pilates class of the day.
Tuning into your breath and your body, you sigh contentedly as your new friends gather and class begins. By the end of class, the sun is up and you are feeling stronger and more confident, and experiencing a clarity and connection to self as the group is led through a guided meditation before a delicious breakfast.
WHO, ME?
Are you scheduled 24/7 with barely a moment for yourself?
Do you feel your body impacted by the demands of work, parenting, scheduling, caregiving for family and friends, and all the rigors of daily life?
Are your spirit and psyche feeling the effects of limited time to take care of yourself and/or your body?
Do you want to rediscover and reclaim your own inner and outer strength?
Escape to the beautiful Texas hill country to enjoy both the beauty and peace of nature, as you sink into the luxury & relaxation of a resort experience where you don’t have to worry about scheduling, cooking, carpools, or conference calls.
During our time together, you can focus on reconnecting to yourself, rediscovering your own inner and outer strength.
THE VENUE
Horseshoe Bay is the best of both worlds in central Texas – the beautiful green terrain of the Texas hill country, and the gorgeous shores of Lake LBJ. Who wouldn’t want a soulful and relaxing getaway that’s far from the hustle and bustle of city life, with the beauty of the countryside, and also the amenities of a lakeside resort?
The resort: With its picturesque setting and resort amenities, Horseshoe Bay Resort is the perfect location for our hill country getaway. Though the property is expansive (with lakeside activities, delicious restaurants, golf courses, an on-site spa, and three pools to lounge in — sign me up!), our group will experience intimacy as we gather in our own private lakeside space! In your free time at Horseshoe Bay, you’ll be able to sit in quiet meditation at the lake, soak in a relaxing massage at the spa, or speed off on a jet-ski on Lake LBJ — your choice!
The cuisine: Let’s not forget the food! The culinary delights of our weekend, all chef-prepared, will center on options from local farms and artisans. Saturday night’s dinner at Waterfront Grill, overlooking the lake, will feature Texas Gulf Coast seafood selections for our group to enjoy. And yes, if you’re a wine person — there will be wine and other drink options!
Travel : Horseshoe Bay is a scenic one-hour drive from Austin, and easily accessible from San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. If flying in, it’s recommended to fly into Austin Bergstrom Airport. The resort can arrange an airport pickup for you (not included in retreat registration).
OUR WEEKEND JOURNEY - WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
What if you could spend a weekend attending to your body’s and spirit’s needs without all the distractions of daily life?
What if you discovered ways to become stronger on the inside as you reconnect with your deepest self? What if you had a plan to take home with you, in order to continue deepening your connection to your inner strength and confidence?
What if you discovered ways to become physically stronger, tuning into bodily strength and awareness you didn’t know you had? What if you learned some simple practices you can continue at home to grow exponentially in your movement goals?
Plus you’ll meet like-minded, heart-centered people who will become your friends and part of your support system along your transformational journey.
PILATES
The mind-body nature of Pilates means that not only will your body get exercise during our retreat, but so will your brain! Why? Pilates teaches us to move mindfully, which will help us in our mission of reconnecting to our deepest selves. Since we know that strength is both mental and physical, we can use simple Pilates principles to further transform ourselves on a daily basis.
Do I have to be good at Pilates to come on this retreat? No! Whether you are a beginner or advanced, this retreat is for you! Mary is an experienced teacher and has worked with all levels. All you need in order to join is a willingness to try new things and a determination to focus on yourself for a weekend!
